It's hard to believe that Russell will be 6 months in a little over a week! And Erick started his Pre-K class - only one year until we start Kindergarten. Where does the time go? I do know that we're doing everything we can to enjoy every second of it. Russell is trying really hard to start crawling. He has the general idea, but can't quite get his mid-section off the ground. He's definitely teething, but we've yet to see any teeth cut through. One of the sweetest things is when you get him out of his crib he reaches both arms out for you and when you pick him up he gives you a great big sqeeze around the neck. Erick is doing great! He loves his new class and he loves his new teacher Ms. Debbie. She's great and I know she's going to push them over the next year, but we're ready. We're working on riding a bike without training wheels. Watch out! He's such a bookworm, so we make a point to hit the library every couple of weeks to get something new to read. We usually have to cut him off at about 15 books....the bag gets too heavy for us to carry!
We had a special visit from my sister (Auntie) in July. It was great to see her (we missed seeing Gunkle Ben) but we were so happy to have Auntie for a long weekend. Of course we took her to our favorite place to eat (or should I say my favorite) Mimi's, along with a trip to see the Riverwalk.
We also got a nice surprise from Nana, she was in town on a short business trip, but we were able to snatch her up for a sleepover at our house. We miss her!
Labor day weekend we got to take a trip to Carlsbad, NM where we met up with Gordon's parents - Granny and Papa Pete. It was so nice to get away and have a little vacation. The boys got lots of loving, and Erick just loves getting to spend the night in Granny and Papa Pete's room (no parents). Haha We had such a wonderful, relaxing time and it was so great to see Bonnie and Pete. Road trips are an adventure. We were really blessed that Erick was such an easy traveler. Russell....well, he's not quite sure that being strapped into his carseat for any length of time is a good idea. But we really can't complain. He would eventually fall (or cry himself) to sleep and would be crashed out for hours.
We hope everything is going well for you all! We're keeping busy, and having lots of fun! Take care!
